A cloudy start which ended up a bright sun shiny day …….

Today’s squad Frankie, Tom, Morgan, Edonis, Jed, Theo, Connor, Saul, Joey, Gabe, Reynolds, Chris and Joel

We started very slowly, yes we had the pressure but everything was a bit sloppy. Aldenham dropped deep played only one upfront and made it very difficult for us to create space. This is when the wingers need to pull wide when we are attacking and make runs behind the full back. First real chance fell to Gabe which the keeper saved, another chance fell to Gabe after a great 1-2 with Connor again to only be foiled by the keeper. In the first twenty the back four of Tom, Morgan, Edonis and Jed proved too strong for Aldenham leaving Frankie as a mere spectator / Sweeper.

Nick made a couple of changes and soon the fresh pace helped create the first goal Chris broke down the right and fed the ball across, Jed had pushed up and unleashed a fantastic shot that flew in top corner. Just shows that what you practice in training can pay off !!! 1.0

Still we had the game but failed to score the goals our play deserved, with five minutes to go the ball got played up Saul and Gabe and not quite sure what happened but the ball ended up in the net. Gabe to his credit said it was Saul’s Goal 2.0 HT

Second half and we began exactly where you left off with all the pressure and soon it paid off Theo got played in and scored 3.0. Joey took a corner and Saul was unlucky with a shot that deflected for another corner, unfortunately it also resorted in the end on Joey’s game as he pulled his groin. However from the corner Theo, Yes Theo scored with his head !!!!! 4.0

With thirty minutes to go i would of thought that would of been it but a little lapse in concentration and it was 4.1 This made the next ten minutes quite tight but the game was ended when Theo claimed his hat- trick to make it 5.1

Next came a goal of the season contender, Connor won the ball in midfield, played a defense splitting ball down the left, Joel “Messi” Peters took the ball forward went round one player, then nutmeged a second, then buried the ball in the back of the net GOOOOOOOALLLLL 6.1

At this point all the goals started to merge and Nick rotated the team so much i am sure Edonis and Morgan were both upfront at some point.

Theo – Scored his fourth and was promptly put at full back

Edonis – First Goal of the season a calm side foot shot

Gabe – Got the goal he deserved from the first half.

Reynolds – Cut in from the right and scored

Tom – A 20 yard screamer that hit the top corner. Then put at Center half

Final score 10.1 A really excellent performance to get our spirits up after last week, but trust me we will have tougher opponents to come.

MoTM. Another week of some excellent performance, I will single Joel as i thought he worked so hard and i look forward to see that type of performance every week, But the MoTM went to Theo and his hat-trick in ten minute spell, and an assist with a cheeky flick for Gabe’s Goal.

Editors Comment : some already noticed that there are 11 goals not 10 but Messi deserved one of Theo’s 🙂

A tough cup draw, but on another day…..

Today’s squad Tom, Jed, Morgan, Edonis, Louis, Saul, Connor, Joey, Reynolds, Gabe, Chris, Jack and Bucks.

We were drawn against a team three divisions hire than ourselves, but from the start it was not that obvious. Chris was causing problems up front with his pace and both Gabe and Reynolds  were nearly through on a couple of occasions. However after ten minutes they scored with i think their first meaningful attack. The ball was played down our right and the ball was played across the goal mouth Tom slightly misjudged and they rolled the ball into the goal. 0.1

It was shame and not deserved but you battled on, still you created half chances. But they started to attack more. bucks cleared off the line and Tom made a couple of good saves, whilst all the time Morgan and Edonis were having a great game at center half. However again we were made to pay, the ball was not closed down after a throw on a fantastic shot beat Tom at the far post 0.2. With five minutes of time left Chris nearly scored what would of been a deserved goal but the goalie saved. Saul was unlucky not to get a penalty at HT 0.2

Second half started same as the first you were still very much in the game. Saul was trying to stem the attacks from the centre and the defense still looked strong. Connor had a great shot saved by the keeper and we still had chances. But no luck today they broke and scored 0.3. With sixty minutes gone it started to look like one way traffic. Heads started to drop and i know they switched to three at the back and swamped us in midfield. Not that this didn’t give us chances but our runs needed to be wider to make the through ball easier, but every time i thought you would score they would block, clear, header it out of harms way. Less said about the last fifteen the better. Lets just say they scored three more goals 0.6 FT a harsh score line.

MoTM : For the first sixty minutes I had a few contender Morgan and Edonis worked hard at center half, Jed had another great game both in defense and midfield, Tom for going in goal and making a couple of nice saves, but today it went to Saul, he showed desire, passion and a great work rate. He stopped so many attacks and always looked to get the ball forward. Even at 0.4 he was a great example to you all on how not to give up and how to keep fighting till the final whistle.

Next Game is home to Aldenham at Chase Lodge Kick Off 10:00am please ensure that you are at the ground by 9.30am

He may of lost the toss but he made up for it ……

Today’s squad Frankie, Bucks, Morgan, Edonis, Jack, Jed, Tom, Connor, Joel, Bleets, Gabe, Theo, Louis & Saul

Lets start with basics, you are all big boys now so get your get your kit together the day/night before we play do not play in Astros on a wet pitch !!! no names mentioned.

First half started and my god were we slow, obviously the two weeks off had made you all use to having a lie in on a Sunday morning. We were under pressure from the start and a couple of clearances kept them out. After ten minutes the goal finally came. We had three or four chances to clear the ball but we didn’t Morgan finally got to the ball and it hit there player and ball flew into the net. 1.0. That was the wake up call we needed. Gabe was unlucky with a good run and shot. Connor tried his luck from 30 yards but the pressure was beginning to tell. You started to play some good one touch football and were starting to see the rewards. After 25 minutes Connor played the ball out to Tom who hit a first time ball with his left and Gabe rose excellently in the middle and placed the header in the top corner. 1.1 Rest of the first half we created a few half chances but nothing clear cut, Saul slipped over just when he was about to shoot so unlucky. 1.1 HT

Second half started this time we were back to ourselves, again we had the better play but found chances hard to come buy. We were unlucky from a few corners but nothing seemed to fall just right. Fifteen minutes into the second half Morgan saw the ball, a quick glance up and he saw the goalie too high up the pitch, Beckham esq he float the ball 40 yards in so it dips just under the bar but over the keeper 1.2 lets just keep it at that!! But well done Morgan it was the break we needed and deserved. Bucks was injured in the build up to the goal and unfortunately could take no further part. From then on we were the better team, Saul slipped just when he was put in, Tom was unlucky with a diving lunge, Joel was a played in and should of shot earlier but was tackled the last second. Last ten whist we had the possession they were always threat on the counter and it was from one on these that they equalized. The ball came down our left again we had a couple of chance to clear but didn’t take them. a shot hit Jack and deflected sending Frankie the wrong way 2.2

Soon after Frankie was called on again but saved well with legs. Last five it was all us, but could we get the chance, With two minutes to go the ball was switched from the right to the left and there was Bleets in acre’s of space and time to build a small settlement. I would of bet large on him to finish from here and mark a good debut….. But no he dwelled slightly too long and the defender slid in amd knocked the ball for a corner. Arrrgh.

So extra time Nick makes a big call, Takes off Gabe and puts Jed upfront. Within in one minutes the gamble paid off Connor won the ball in midfield played it up to Tom who quickly switched it out to Bleets who played it in first time. Jed with his back to goal turns and shoots the ball rolled into the bottom corner 2.3 A nice goal and fully deserved.

Overall i could see rustyness with not playing for two weeks. Defensively tacked really well but we struggled to clear the ball at times. Whist Nick and I like you to play football sometimes you need to go long or long and out for a throw so you can re-group and start again. Attacking still need to look at switching play a bit more.

MoTM Today i thought contenders were Louis, Worked hard in the middle the first half and also played well on the right in the second, Jed a great saving tackle in the first and scored the winner, but today i have gone for Gabe he held play up well when needed and brought others into the game. Other times he run in the channels to give people the option to knock it long. He worked backed to cover midfield when they got caught up front and lastly scored a really good header.

well done all see you at training.

To Win when not playing well …. A sign of a good team

Today’s squad Frankie, Reynolds, Jack, Morgan, Edonis, Jed, Tom, Saul,Louis, Connor, Gabe, Theo, Joel,Chris and Joey.

Once again Captain Morgan won the Toss !! What can i say …..

We started the first half far too slow. Too many touches at the back and not getting the ball wide quickly. Very little in the way of chances and if anything we were letting them dictate to us in midfield. Up front they had only one player but far to often we were letting ourselves end up one on one. After 15 minutes, Reynolds played the ball into the box Connor laid the ball back to Gabe who’s shot went straight at the keeper. With 30 minutes gone they broke and the forward was though on goal, Frankie came out quickly and got a good foot into block the run/shot. Last 10 minutes Tom hit the cross bar from a corner. Plenty of pressure lots of corners but we never got any real clear cut chances. 0.0HT

Second half and we were on the front foot, still i felt susceptible to the counter attack as too often we pushed up too much. Main thing of note for me was you did start to get it wide but it all went down the right, No cross field ball, No switching play we didn’t use the fact that we had a extra player to our advantage. Finally we did get the ball down the left Jed made a good run and forced the corner. Connor played a short corner to Chris who drove into the box and unleashed a curling right foot shot that dipped into the top corner. Really good goal.

Final twenty and we still had the play but could not fashion a clear cut chances. Joel had a half chance and so did Jed but nothing would drop. With 30 minutes the ball was played into the box and Connor hit it first time with his left (old Swinger) and it flew into the bottom corner another really good goal. From that you saw there heads drop and the last 10 (or should i say five as the referee blew up early) you were in Cruise control. 2.0 FT

A strange game you played no where near as good as you can or did last week, yet scored two fantastic goal. Some of the play was two frantic and sometimes just too slow.

MoTM  A couple of mentions Frankie had his first clean sheet of the season and made a good save in each half. Louis had a good game at right back in the second half, keeping close to winger and playing good balls forward. Today’s MoTM was Morgan in the first half alone he manged to clear the danger about eight times when left one on one and sometimes it looked like he was defending on his own. Too often full backs got caught up field and the defense didn’t move across to cover the danger quick enough. Also if a defender is holding an attacking player up players getting back  should try to win the ball back from the blindside and close them down give them no space.

Training is at Ashmole tomorrow night see you at 6.30 PM

Oops i forgot to take any photos ……

Sorry boys got so involved in the warm up that i forgot to take the pre-match snaps. Parents if you ever take any photos during the game please send to me to use in the blog.

So today was all about revenge, we lost to this team a couple of weeks ago in the last minute of extra time 4.3. How did you do today ?

Today’s squad Frankie , Jack, Morgan, Edonis, Jed, Arlind, Tom, Saul, Reynolds, Connor, Gabe, Chris, Bucks and Joel.

Morgan won the toss again to keep going his lucky streak and they kicked off. We soon won the ball back and went in the attack, Saul drove forward and unleashed a really good shot that the goalie saved and pushed round for a corner. Connor floated the corner in Saul went for the acrobatic overhead kick that smashed against the cross bar. After one minute we had had two excellent chances, this was to set the tone for the first half. Gabe soon after was put through and the goalie made an excellent save. Another corner came and this time Edonis was unlucky as he came in unchallenged. In the first ten minutes we must of had six or seven corners that we nearly scored from each time. Gabe had another couple of chance but each time a lucky block seemed to thwart him. A couple of times we got caught at the back Full backs remember to get goal side of the opposing player,  give yourself a couple of yards. This allows you to either attack the ball at pace in the air or gives you time to turn and cover if it goes long. Also you must remember to defend as a unit. If a center half is pulled over then the remaining centre half and full back need to all move across to fill in the gaps. its up to the wide midfielders to then slot in at full back to keep us solid.

With twenty minutes gone Nick rung the changes to bring on some fresh legs and it paid off straight away. Reynolds won the ball and quickly released Chris who out paced the defense and calmly finished. Really nice goal 1.0

Five minutes later Jed broke down the left fed the ball to Connor who’s good shot was well saved however Reynolds did what we had been talking about last week followed in the rebound and made it 2.0

Jed had a good shot with his weaker foot hit the post and roll across line and we just missed the rebound. With ten minutes to go Bucks made a good tackle and released Gabe, who in turn ran on ten yards and played the ball forward to Chris who finished well again 3.0 HT

So what did Nick and I say not to do at the start of the second half “Switch Off” what did you all do “Switch Off” almost from kick off they strolled forward in acre’s of space, no one closed and shot really well from just outside the box. 3.1

At least this seemed to wake you all up and you started to press again. Chris was unlucky not to get his hat trick and Arlind had a shot go just wide. Still at times we pushed too many players up fortunately Morgan , Edonis and Tom swept up well at the back but at times we were exposed. It was from one of these breaks that perhaps they should of scored . They broke and hit the post as they followed up Bucks cleared of the line could of easily been 3.2. However it was not to be Tom won a free kick , played the ball in Saul toed the ball out of one of the keepers hands and Gabe calmly finished getting the goal his good work in the first half deserved. 4.1

As we moved into the last twenty it was old Connor, Reynolds One-Two Another good shot from Connor was really well saved by the keeper and there was Reynold to slot home his second from a tight angle 5.1

Fifteen minutes to go and again a little too gun-ho and we got punished. Frankie saved really well first of all however the rebound fell kindly for another player to make 5.2.

Last five minutes and Saul got his goal that was long over due around 75 Mins, Connor floated in a corner Saul met it firmly and directed it into the bottom corner 6.2 FT

Overall very pleased with the performance, i thought you controlled the game from start to finish. we don’t need to over commit men as we have enough dangerous players to score goals. Keep it tight at the back and you wont lose !

MoTM Today i thought we had a few candidates Reynold had a really good first half, Gabe played very well, but today it went to Connor he tackled well in midfield but his though balls and link up play were excellent. Another day and his shots would not of been saved but they created two goals. His corners were well delivered and we could of scored five from them rather than just one. Well done

All training is at 6.30 Ashmole see you all then. Remember to work hard in training as it pays dividends on the pitch. And it is starting to show.

A Game of two halves………..

Today’s squad Frankie, Theo, Morgan, Tom, Edonis, Jed, Joey, Louie, Connor, Gabe, Chris, Arlend, Bucks, Reynolds, Saul.

Lunchtime kick off , even then Saul decided to have a extra lie in, but in the end the extra sleep paid off.

Morgan won the Toss again to keep his streak going and we kicked down hill the first half. To be honest straight away we were on the attack. Jed was getting joy down the left and Chris had the pace of the defense from the start. A few half chance fell early on sometimes you just have to hit with your weaker foot. If you cut in the chance can be gone.

We definatley started the better team, however it was not to be after ten minutes they broke down the right. We held them up but then you all stood off them no one closed the man, he then had all the time to pick the ball out at the far post and they scored 0.1. Reynolds was unlucky very soon after with a shot on his left but we didn’t just get that break we needed.

You picked yourselves up and carried on still the chances came. Chris hit the post and we just missed the follow up. Corners we looked dangerous but nothing seemed to drop. Then you all started to take too much time. We are a much better team with quick passes and playing it wide or behind the back for. Sometimes you all hold the ball too long and lose possession whilst we are attacking. It was from one of these they broke defense was too slow and out of position 0.2

Almost straight from kick off it was 0.3 a long ball into the box and the defense were marking each other. They had three men lining up to head the ball in the net which they did !!! Did we need half time !!!!

Second half Nick changed it around to get more pace up front pushing Jed through the middle and it paid off straight away. Tom played the ball and Jed ran on and scored with his weaker foot. Good goal back in the game.1.3

Suddenly you were a back to the team that i know.Chris was causing all sorts of problems up front and on the right. I think he won three or four free kicks and it was another run from him that ended up as a penalty. The defender took the man then the ball and the ref rightly gave a penalty. Tom stepped up and struck the ball hard. The goalie got a hand to it but it still went in. 2.3

Just as we looked like we would push on you got a wake up call. They broke down our left Frankie came out really well and narrowed the angle forcing the shot wide which hit the post. The defense then cleared the danger. From then i felt anyone who played in the back four controlled there forwards (Louis, Morgan, Edonis, Bucks, Reynolds)

From a corner, the ball was cleared and Gabe hit a fantastic volley that flew into the net. Fully deserved 3.3

From now on there was only one team, they were arguing, losing there discipline, with ten minutes to go Jed ran down the left and worked well, pulled it back to Connor who finished 4.3

Game was not over yet still had time for one more goal, another corner the ball was cleared straight back to Connor who hit it back first time . Saul came steaming through the middle to power a header into the bottom corner. A really well taken goal.

Last ten minutes you all closed the game out with no fuss. In fact we still had a couple of chances.

Overall such a good second half. Defense was solid, midfield drove the team forward and the front ment had pace and a eye for goal.

Well done all you. Today’s MoTM was Jed he worked hard up down the left flank and then put a great shift upfront in the second half. He is a really good player and its a big welcome to the the team. To be honest the second half you all could of got MoTM with the effort you all put in.

Training this week is on Wednesday 6.30 till about 7.45 light permitting.

Next week as Louie quoted “Revenge”

Happy New Year to our Jewish players

PS . The ref was awesome

First game of the season ………..

Todays Squad was Frankie, Theo, Saul, Edonis, Morgan, Joel, Joey, Tom, Connor, Reynolds, Chris, Louis, Louis B (Bucks from now on), Jack, Arland.

To be honest we started slowly, they definitely started the better team and put us under pressure. Frankie swept well behind the  back three. Their right winger who was their best attacker put in a few chances but most drifted wide. Our best chance in the first half who poked the ball just wide as he and the keeper slid for the ball. Half time 0.0 but we grew into the game more towards the half.

Second half stated and we got a few chances. Reynolds was unlucky a couple of times and nearly scored with his knee  from outside the box after good work from Chris as he created the rebound and the ball rolled wide of the post. However  with 18 minutes to go we got caught short, didn’t close the player quick enough and a speculative shot flew into the top corner. Nick changed it to 4.4.2 and we applied more pressure. With five minutes to go a good ball into Tom who turned well in the box and finished well 1.1

Extra-time first five minutes we were sloppy and almost gave a couple of chances away, in a 4.4.2 the full backs got caught a bit too far forward. Our attacking play was good and Saul drove down the left and after a couple of nice one-two he drove the ball home. 2.1 . Unfortunately the lead didn’t last long as Frankie miss-kicked  and it fell to opposition attacker who passed into a empty net, the kick was unlucky but we must remember to be goal side of the opposition 2 .2

This half was still not over we attacked again and every time we did we looked threatening the ball fell to Tom and we were back in front. 3.2

Still not over more drama, The ball got played down our right and we had a couple chances to clear, unfortunately we tried to over play it a bit too much, the ball got switched and the player went past Frankie as he came out and slotted the ball home Half-time 3.3

Second half started and it was end to end Chris hit the post almost from kick off and then they went up the put the ball across the goal and just missed when it seemed easier to score. Half chances came and went but nothing we should of scored. With one minute of extra time left and just when it seemed penalties were guaranteed they scored a dubious goal. Morgan made a good tackle and the forward went down he seemed to handle the ball on the ground claiming a free kick, The referee said play on as we all stopped to stop, they broke and scored. 4.3

At the kick off every pushed forward Jack played a long ball and we nearly scored , Their defense cleared the ball for a corner. Connor and Chris took a short one, Connor played the ball in and Saul volleyed just over the bar. So so so unlucky and that was that. Final score 4.3

Overall we played well, a bit sloppy in places but it was the first game of the season, that saying we have this team in the cup again in a couple of weeks and i want a different result !!!

Well done all of you, I thought you all played well today MoM was Saul who was rock solid in defense and when pushed into midfield he drove the team forward.

Training tomorrow is 6.30 at Ashmole on Astro. As we wore the yellow today please wear any kit but not the HOME kit

Thanks

David & Nick

Enfield Tournament

IMG_2547 IMG_2548

IMG_2549 IMG_2550

End of Season Tournament at Enfield Rangers

Today’s Six a side Tournament was restricted to previously signed players so today’s squad was Frankie, Morgan, Edonis, Jack, Tom, Louis, Connor, Gabe and Reynolds.

The first Game was against Broomfield Youth who had a big presence in this competition (4 teams ) in our age group alone. We held our own for 8 minutes but then a unnecessary free kick  and it was well struck made it 1.0 With 1 Minute and 30 Secs we pushed up for the equalizer and got hit on the break 0.2 final score.

Game Two was against Northwood started slow and then picked up Connor scored a really good goal from a good ball from Reynolds. Louis had a really good shot that the keeper pushed away.We defended well in numbers had a few more chances but just couldn’t put the ball away to give a comfortable win we deserved. 1.0

Game Three Aldenham started very well Tom lobbed the keeper after a great ball from Frankie. After that we had two or three chances to but failed to take them. With two minutes to go we were slow in closing them down in the area and it was 1.1. Last few seconds was all us Gabe had a great chance but just went to wide of the keeper. Final score 1.1 to be honest you should of won.

Game Four Broomfield Youth II a tight game against a good team. Again plenty of half chance but no joy. Franckie made some good saves and Morgan/Edonis with some last ditch tackles. 0.0

Game Five Whitewebbs probably best team we played held our own for the first 5/6 minutes with Nick giving Edonis a man marking roll and playing three defensive players. However a chance broke and the player rifled in a really good shot. Nick rang the changes and went far more attacking , but again we lacked composure in the finish. last second break away made it 0.2

The game that probably created the best atmosphere was the last (and we weren’t involved) needing Aldenham to get a draw they failed us dismally not through lack of us cheering them on. so no quarter finals for us 😦

Great day shame the rain came, but thanks to everyone for taking part and thanks to you parent through Sun , Rain and early start

See you all at training tomorrow night.

Presentation Day

IMG_2276 IMG_2279 IMG_2282 IMG_2284 IMG_2287

Today’s squad well everyone bar Tom and Louie who were unfortunately away.

First just saying well done you all. You have come a long way from the team that got well beat at the start of the season. To end with a positive goal difference, highest points for two years and you beat the teams that finished 2nd and 3rd.

It was a fantastic day for a presentation. The sun was out a few beers and a kick around to Finish. Nick went through all of the players saying a bit about you all. I will write another blog over the next few week giving tips on what to work on for each of you next season. But lets go the main winners.

Top Goal Scorer : Gabe, Excellent first season even scored with his left foot.

Players Player: Faizan, Another debut season and won people over with his constant drive in midfield.

Managers Player: Edonis, Our third debutant winner, he has been a rock at the back and chipped in with some excellent goal. Most improved player over the season.

After the formalities it was game time. The Dads plus who ever else we could coax in played the team. Dads took an early lead through a Kenny Gibb beautiful curled in corner that found the far post. The response was furious from the Herons but Big Nick Rember ably helped by Malcolm and Darren they held firm at the back. Nick showed the boys how to do a headed clearance and even sacrificed his sunglasses for the cause. With Waj and his silky skills in midfield we were giving them a game. However after a bit of pressure Gabe managed to run one in to make it 1.1

The Dads didn’t let there heads drop and Shaban was unlucky a couple of times, but the pressure was building a Beckham-ess ball from myself found Hotshot Gary Reynolds who buried his goal (Now that’s how you finish Tom LOL). With Five minutes to go we started to fall deep, a bit of tiredness setting, more due to dehydration (Heat/Beer you choose) than anything else (yeah right). The Herons got the Equalizer 2.2 sorry cant remember if it was Faizan or Tom but i think it was one of you. The last three minutes were played at a premiership pace with chances at both ends but no one could find that moment of skill. Final score 2.2 with Dads retiring to a well earned beer!

Really good game, great fun and thanks to everyone for taking part. I am already looking forward to next season and have already bought some new equipment for fitness ……….

Just some dates for everyone

A team from a higher division, However we were just as good if not better……

Today was the last friendly of the season and it was a small squad due to the back holiday weekend.

Tom, Theo, Morgan, Edonis, Joey, Joel, Connor, Louis, Faizan, Reynolds, Gabe and Jonathan.

It was a warm but rainy last game on a good pitch, that was wide and long it also had massive goals !! The first 5 minutes we started well with Gabe and Reynolds pressuring there back four alot. Against the run of play they broke down the left, We had a couple of chance to clear/block the attack but once they got in the penalty box any half decent shot would score and they did 1.0

You kept your heads up and continued to play some neat triangles and decent balls into the box. finally after 20 mins we got the goal your play had deserved. Gabe broke down the left and got to the byline before hitting a cross/shot with his left ( Yes his left) that flew in the beyond the back post. 1.1

We still had a few half chance but didn’t quite get our shots away in time, also we need to play a bit less straight down the middle. Jonathan was unlucky when he drove the ball back towards goal after they cleared the initial free kick. Just before half time they broke down the right and the ball fell to their striker via a deflection. Unlucky 2.1

Second half started the same as the first with you on the front foot and after ten minutes you got the goal your play deserved Faizan was fed the ball and ran on towards goal. He looked like he would easily score but put it at the keeper which rebounded back to him at pace which he managed to bundle in the second and more difficult chance 2.2

Tom made a couple of decent saves and swept well at back playing that “Neuer” roll. Faizan was unlucky with another long shot and should of probably scored when put through again. However the Referee gave a strange decision saying Gabe was offside (which he was) but he wasn’t interfering with play as he never got the ball. Gabe hit the Corner of the goal with a great shot from outside and Reynolds should of hit the target when played in. With five minutes to go Jonathan gave away a free kick. The ball was won by us but we didn’t clear properly, the ball ricocheted back inside to where the had 5 men waiting and they made no mistake 3.2 Full time came round quickly after that so final score was 3.2

MoTM: First thanks Tom for going in goal today. The two wing backs Theo and Joel are getting more use to there roles and this showed in there play also Joel was a lot stronger in the second half. After that i felt Louis & Connor both had a strong game in center of midfield, both got forward to create and both got back to tackle and close men down. So i will give it to them jointly.

No training tomorrow as it Bank Holiday

From Monday 11th will train at Glebelands on Summers Lane

17th May is Presentation day at Wingate and Finchley (Exact time TBC) Please wear blue home kit

7th June Trials 9:15 Please feel free to invite potential new players  (Do not wear club kit) Bartrams Lane EN4 0EH
