A Poor first half proved costly …….

Today’s squad Frankie, Edonis, Morgan, Tom, Theo, Joel, Saul, Jed, Connor, Arlind, Chris, Gabe, Reynolds,Bucks and Louis.

We started far too slowly and invited pressure on us from the start. We gave them far too much room and time on the ball. Frankie made a excellent save in the first five minutes. The next ten minutes and they were still on top but slowly we started to get back into the game. Chris had a great chance but the keeper made a good save . literally they broke and we missed a couple of tackles and they scored. 0.1

Five minutes later we again had a couple of chances to clear the ball but failed and they scored a fantastic goal 0.2

At the moment we were all over the shop but still creating chances. Gabe could of scored, Jed hit a great shot just over the bar and we didn’t take our chances. Once again we got hit on the break Frankie came out well and and forced the shot on to the post however no one followed in and it was a easy goal. 0.3 HT

Second half started and we were back in the game. We got our shape and started to play. We put pressure on their defense and it started to tell from the beginning. Gabe again was unlucky with two or three half chances. Saul picked the ball up and drove into the heart of the defense and scored 1.3

We now had them on the ropes. Theo should of scored when Gabe set him up and then we had another three or four chances. However the next 15 minutes hit a bit of a lull leaving all the excitement for the last 15 minutes.

Gabe took a blow to the face and as i was patching him up i just turned round in time to see Connor burst through and calmly finish with his left 2.3

Suddenly it felt like a cup tie with end to end action. First Frankie save a great one on one effort and then the striker missed a open goal. However they soon made up as they scored again 2.4

From our kick off we attack straight away and almost score. Connor plays the ball into Theo who finished well 3.4

A couple minutes later and Theo get another chance and finishes 4.4

Literally from kick off they ran up the other end and scored no idea what happened 5.4 only like two minutes to go.

Tom and Gabe both get chances but are called for offside but i think both were harsh as they are long balls and were on when it was kicked.

For me we are now in stoppage time we get a free kick in their half. Even Frankie has come up Edonis hits the ball and it drops just under the bar 5.5

Surely its over ……. they kick off and again we don’t make the tackles their forward the ball is played forward and Frankie says he was off but he scores and it stands….. And that is it 5.6

A really good game for the neutral as they say. But our first league loss of the season I think a draw would of been a fair result.

MoTM. Gabe hold up play and created chances today but no luck with the finishing, Jed worked really hard for the team playing at times as left back and midfield at the same time. But me Men of the Match were Frankie who made some great saves and Morgan for his captaincy and encouragement and a most awesome tackle in the second half.

The second half is how you should be playing all the time. You cannot turn up to games and think you can just win. Now i want to see a response and win our remaining games.

Tough Game and not the best pitch.

Today’s squad Frankie, Tom, Edonis, Morgan, Theo, Jed, Louis, Saul, Connor, Joey, Gabe, Joel, Reynolds, Arlind and Chris.

The games started at 100 Mph with no one really taking control. The first couple of half chances fell to them and we responded with a couple of shots from Joey and Gabe. However the first real chance fell St Albans who hit a cracking shot that hit the top of the goal and ran along the line how it stayed out have no idea. Tom cleared to Connor who fed Jed who in turn fed Gabe. Gabe went past the keeper but he pushed him wide and the ball bobbled as he hit it putting it past the post. It could of been a goal at either end in seconds.

The next ten minutes we had a bit more pressure Reynolds and Chris both created half chances when they come on. They hassled the defence and kept them under pressure. Reynold had the best chance but his shot went wide.

With ten minutes of the first half left the first goal came. We backed off their players too much. Three/ four players all stood around waiting someone else to tackle the striker. No one did drove on and hit a great shot into the top corner 1.0

The last five minutes we created some more chances. Arlind played Gabe through and some how Gabes shot was saved by the keeper. No idea…….a Corner from Joey and Jed seemed to fairly challenge the keeper however he went down and the Ref gave a free kick and ended the game as Jed was about to score. HT 1.0

Second half you came out much stronger, Saul started to influence the midfield and push everyone forward. Again we started to create half chance and the referee did not want to award us any decisions. First real chance feel to Jed who a smart shot saved by the keeper at his near post. Tom had a free kick saved by the keeper. Frankie swept well at the back while Morgan and Edonis upped their game and started to dominate the forwards

Finally the pressure paid off the ball was one in midfield Tom held off the defender and Gabe ran on he beat the defender and calmly finished with his left foot (to add). 1.1

Last ten minutes was all us again a chances but nothing seemed to break. Our best chance game in the dying minutes The old Connor corner to Saul routine, Saul powered the ball down to the corner and goalie looked to be behind the line as he saved it. The linesman said he didnt see which was surprising as he had super vision the previous 80 minutes of the match when it suited him. Anyway no goal and the final whistle went not long after FT 1.1

As i said a tough game and probably a draw was the fair result.

MoTM, Today i thought Theo had a really good first half and worked really hard in the wing back role, Gabe held the ball up well in attack and looked dangerous, However today it was Saul had a colossus game in the middle and really started to dominate in the second half, almost capped it off with a trade mark header at the end.

Well done all ! Next week Spring cup at home. But training first

At least we got a game played …….

Today’s squad Frankie , Tom, Morgan, Edonis, Jed, Chris, Saul, Louis, Joey, Connor, Gabe, Reynolds, Jack, Arlind and Theo

The pitch was probably not the best small, bobbly but at least it was dry. The small pitch i and the strong wind i think effected our game more than theirs. We started slow but assured. Tom got complacent at the back and a clearance fell to their striker who hit a really good shot. However Frankie was alert and made a great diving save to palm the ball away for a corner. The first twenty minutes we had the better possession Joey set up a few chances and Gabe should of scored, but at times we needed to release the ball quicker. The grass was very long and the ball got easily stuck under feet.

Finally after around 20 minutes Louis fed Chris down the right who cut inside the penalty area only to be badly taken out by the center half and came off injured. Tom placed the penalty to the keepers left 1.0

Very soon after Jed broke down the the left and shot at goal the keeper seemed to have it covered however he palmed it into the back of the net. 2.0

From here we should of closed the game but we kept making it hard work for ourselves cheapily giving the ball away, foul throws and offside. all stuff that can be easily ironed out of our game. Lets put it down to lack of practice.

Anyway its was from a sloppy mistake that they broke down our right and i have to say the forward scored a cracking goal 2.1

The rest of the half we were always the better team but failed to turn pressure into goals HT 2.1

To be honest it was not the best half i have seen you play and Nick also aged asking for a better response in second half.

Second half started and you looked much more in control. The keeper made to or three good saves to keep them in it. Finally the pressure paid off a poor kick from the keeper which Gabe controlled, his first shot was well saved but he followed in and smashed it into the net 3.1

Again this should of been the sign to push on but soon after we let them back in to the game. We failed to clear the ball and the forward ran into score 3.2

Now the game got tight and bit niggley, you must remember to let your football do the talking and don’t get involved in petty arguments.

The last twenty minutes and again we had the best chances Joey was unlucky as a cross field ball just went pass him at the back post. Arlind put a great ball through which the keeper saved well from Gabe. Finally the pressure told, Reynolds and Louis worked the ball really well down the right. Louis drove in from the touchline played a ball across the box for Connor who was coming in at the back post. However the defender bundled it in the goal . Give that to Louis 4.2 and that was game over.

Chris broke from our own half and was taken out in the box. Another penalty. For change we let Chris have the penalty but the keeper saved well Unlucky.

Last five minutes again all pressure from us and a corner from Connor found Saul unmarked GOAL (feel like I have written that once or twice) and Saul was Happy 🙂 LOL           5.2 and FT

Definiately a bit of rustiness your play but well done everyone. Training tomorrow night as usual 6.30

MoTM All a bit tight this week. Some very average performances in the first half followed much better in the second half. Saul much better second half sat deeper and controlled the midfield, Morgan again better second half some good interceptions and covered the full backs well. But this week it went to Chris won two penalties also played some nice passing with the midfield. Worked hard on the wing or up front, really unlucky not to have scored today. Well done Chris……

Afternoon everyone that was a cold wet morning.

Today’s squad Frankie, Bucks, Morgan, Edonis, Louis, Saul, Arlind, Connor, Joel, Theo, Reynolds, Tom, Gabe, Joey and Jack.

To be honest it was a training session for you, but i was pleased in the way you all approached the game and some of the football played. I was also pleased we kept a clean sheet and that Frankie, Morgan and Edonis kept switch on for a game they had little defending to. (Frankie must of been Frozen) !!

So the match starts we are on the attack straight away. In the first couple of minutes the ball must of rolled across the six yard box twice and no one was there to apply the finish. With five minutes gone Louis chips the ball into box and Connor turns on the volley to score 1.0

Next fifteen minutes was one way traffic, we hit the bar twice and the keeper made a few blocks and the defense two or three last ditch tackles. Connor could of completed a hat trick and we spurned  a whole host of opportunities.

Twenty minutes gone and Nick rings the changes and pay instantly  Gabe feeds Reynolds and he finish well 2.0

Now to be honest it all a bit blurry from here but i will give it a go.

Joey takes a corner swings it in and Tom rifles home 3.0

Frankie drop kick maybe a flick on through to Reynold who runs it in 4.0

Gabe picks the ball up on the right feeds Reynolds 5.0 (Hat trick)

Gabe pounces on a mistake by the keeper 6.0

Joey individual mazey run 7.0 HT

Nick stressed at the start of the second we  needed to keep our shape and i was pleased you all took it on board.

Connor followed up a Gabe shot to score 8.0

Penalty someone was pulled back by the shirt Connor scored the Penalty 9.0 (Hat trick)

Reynolds popped up on the right wing to drive the ball across goal to the opposite corner 10.0

Next 10 minutes all got a bit sloppy Saul got a little Saulie !!!! as he must of set up 4 chances that no one seemed to want to convert.

Eventually the pressure paid off and Connor delivered a corner that Saul met with a thumping header. all was OK again in the Saul world !!! 11.0

Last ten and Nick made a host of changes and gave people a chance  in various positions.

Louis crossed and Edonis stabbed home from 2 yards as soon as he came on 12.0

Jack ran the ball in the middle played it forward for Joey to get his second 13.0

Morgan should of scored but a out stretch leg stopped him. anyway too close for Morgan he saves it for 60 Yard specials.

Our back four at one point was Gabe, Edonis, Reynolds and Theo …….

Gabe came off saying he knew he should of scored a lot more, don’t worry Gabe there will be more important games when we will need those goals. Anyway full time 13.0

MoTM

Today i was pleased to see the hard work that was put in. Arlind had a really good first half, won the ball in midfield and played some nice balls forward. Joel had a good game at both left back and midfield probably should of scored at least one of his chances. Frankie for not freezing to death and keeping a clean sheet. But Today MoTM went to Reynolds he came back form a poor performance last week to really put a shift in. Scored 3 goals when he played up top and another from right midfield and even played right back and centre half for the last five minutes to give an all-round performance for the Team !

Lastly to you all well done, You played where you were asked to play and no one moaned. There was a lot of talking on the pitch and encouraging one another. Lets keep that up. The parents thanks for all braving today !

A Game at Last (Saul was happy) !!!!!!!

A good morning to play football as the weather had broke a bit. The pitch not to bad considering the rain and snow in the last six weeks, a bit of surface water in the middle and the wings very slippery.

The game actually started very slowly with both teams making a few mistakes in the opening minutes. Suddenly we broke down the left and Saul drove into the box and had his heels clipped and then he did the splits!!! Penalty……… so two minutes gone and Tom calmly put the ball to the keepers left. 1.0

Very soon after we get out second corner of the match, Jed whips the ball into the box it bounces around the keeper parries but only straight to Connor who passes it into the net 2.0 But to be honest we hadn’t got going yet.

Next ten minutes we had a few more chances their keeper made two or three fantastic saves. Jed was unlucky with a shot across the goal and Gabe had one cleared off the line. The next ten minutes it was pressure from Brady and they got a penalty, Tom turned back into trouble and the striker robbed him of the ball as he drove into the box we still had a couple chances to clear but instead we caught the striker Penalty……. The forward also put the penalty to Frankies left and he nearly got a hand to it 2.1

Next ten minutes was more pressure from Brady yes we looked dangerous on the attack with Chris causing problems but we kept creating our own problems trying to be too clever in our half. Again we had two or three chances to clear yet we didnt, the ball came out to the forward who shot hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced in. 2.2 it was a great shot. (Saul was not happy).

Last five minutes a bit scrappy, Frankie made a excellent one on one save, the ball got cleared and we broke upfield. the ball was played in on the right Tom flicked the ball on and Saul volleyed in the near post. A really good goal. (Saul was now content to pleased) Half Time 3.2

That was a really important goal just before the break, 1) get our confidence back and 2) knock them a bit.

Second half started again a very cagey affair but we were on the attack straight away. Chris and Gabe both unlucky with a couple chances. Frankie swept really well behind the defence and the defence lets say stepped up their game after a indifferent first half. With about 15 minutes of they had a corner Frankie claimed the ball and kicked it out to Gabe on the wing who controlled the ball and drove into the box and calmly finished. A assist from Frankie but good strength and trickery from Gabe. 4.2

Very soon after this the game was effectively killed off again the ball played up to Gabe who collected on the edge of the box, he drove into the area and finished well. 5.2

Next goal again from a Brady corner, Connor won the ball in defense and did a reverse pass up the wing to Chris who picked it up and ran 60 yards to goal. Jed sped after him looking for the cross ball back, Instead Chris went for the shot which deflected off a defender with a last ditch tackle, however Jed was rewarded for his run as he passed into a empty net. 6.2 (Saul was Happy again).

Last five minutes and Nick made a host of changes but we probably should of scored two or three more. Chris and Edonis both put over the bar when it seemed they would score. We switched off and Brady scored I think people were just getting onto their positions 6.3 ( Saul not happy at all !!!)

Last minute and Gabe picks the ball up goes round two players and scores a great goal to complete his hat-trick Well done, Best complement i heared was from a Brady parent who compared Gabe to Ibrahimovic ….

Final Score 7.3 (Saul very Happy)

Phew……..What a game to come back on. Yes you all looked a bit rusty but thats six weeks out. The defence ( Morgan,Edonis, Tom, Saul) had a fantastic second half and looked much more in control in that period. Attacking wise Joey, Connor, Gabe, Jed, Chris played great one-twos / triangles pulled the defence all over the place. The Two Louis both helped shore up defence from full back. Joel, Arlind and Reynolds had much better second halfs tracking back and getting forward from the wide areas.

MoTM: Some contenders Frankie, in command today, made a couple of great saves and got assist. Saul worked tirelessly in defence or midfield and scored a cracking goal, But today it went to Gabe his first two goals were really well taken and killed off Brady. He held the ball up well and linked up with all his team mates. Really good match.

Well done all. I  expect this to be the stepping stone that gets the second half of the season off.

Mud, mud glorious mud ……

Today’s squad Frankie, Jack, Edonis, Morgan, Jed, Joel, Tom, Saul, Theo, Connor, Gabe, Arlind, Chris, Joey and Bucks.

The pitch to be honest was not the best very heavy and sticky in places and didn’t help our normal passing game. We began well with most of the pressure coming from us, Gabe was unlucky when played through and shot just wide, with ten minutes gone the ball was played through Gabe ran on and shot, the keeper saved well however the ball didn’t run out of play and Connor followed up well to pass it into an empty net. 1.0

For the next twenty minutes we had all the pressure, another good ball down the middle caught their defence very high up the pitch Gabe ran on and chipped the keeper as he came out. Nice goal Gabe as we practiced a couple of those in the warm up. 2.0

Very soon we had the pressure again, a good run by Joel down the right and he crossed to Theo, who looked like he would score only for the defender to save it on the line with his hands. PENALTY…. Tom strode up and placed it in the corner 3.0

I think at this point we got a little sloppy and over confident. Too many short passes in our own half not reaching the player and not enough closing the ball down. Mill Hill won the ball and played the ball up and it got stuck around the goal mouth only for the forward to literally bundle man and ball into the net. 3.1

Some more slack defending in the next ten minutes and Frankie made two good saves to keep us ahead. but still you didn’t listen to us and clear the ball long. We gave the ball away again in our half a good ball forward and really good finish 3.2

Last five minutes of the half you got back into the game but didn’t take the chances you were given 3.2 HT

Second half started, unfortunately Edonis went off with a twisted ankle, but we still had the players to cope. Soon Gabe broke a high line and finished well. 4.2 To be honest that early goal killed them off but the game wasn’t over.

Chris made some good runs down the right and was unlucky with a couple of shots, After another Ten minutes Saul broke from the middle and drove forward and finished well. 5.2

Very soon after a corner the ball got played in and Saul flicked the ball on to score his second a nice timed run and header 6.2.

Last ten minutes allowed Nick to change it around and give some players a rest. Joey should of scored when played through but the keeper saved it well. Jed had a great run but the shot was blocked by the centre half. Theo was unlucky when he followed up on a shot. however with so many pushing up we got caught on the break in the last minute which made it 6.3 FT

Overall a good performance in difficult conditions. Some of our players who like to run with the ball at their feet found today hard going. It wasn’t a day for pretty football which is not to say you didn’t play any. I saw some nice passing moves and great team play. A good player adepts to different conditions today was a day to play it wide into areas not so muddy and play it into space to run onto, knowing that the ball would hold up and use the pace of our players.

MoTM Two players stood out Gabe for his two goals, one assist and leading the line well and Saul two goals, two assists a rock in midfield and even played center half for a while. It just went to Saul, but well done both.

Windy and Weird ….

Today’s squad Frankie, Bucks, Edonis, Morgan, Jed, Joel, Louis, Connor, Arlind, Chris, Reynolds, Tom, Theo, Jack and Joey.

Another game far, far away and in very blustery conditions. The game started and we were on the attack from the off and Reynold was unlucky with a early shot that went across the goal. However the ball got cleared in the swirling and eluded Edonis and Morgan initially, but Morgan seemed to have swept it up only for a moment of confusion between Frankie and Morgan allowed the forward to nip in and roll the ball into a empty net. 1.0

Now that was not in the script ! Very soon though we were back on level terms . Chris won the ball ran in and scored 1.1

From here we started to gain control but at times we panicked and didn’t clear our lines properly or the swirling wind caused confusion. When the wind is like this we must keep the ball on the deck (Which is what we are good at) I think that you all had this feeling that you wanted to score so much that we fell into the long ball game, as well as over committing to many men. But the goals would come .

Reynolds won the ball from a goal kick fed Chris who finished 1.2

Connor won the ball on the right ran down  waited for the forward to get in space then crossed for Reynolds who finished well with hid head. 1.3

Joey picked the ball up in the opponents half ran past a couple and scored 1.4

Chris and Louis combined well for Louis to finish in the bottom corner. 1.5

Final goal of the half came from Joey who won the ball from a goal kick and then shot from 25 yards to score a good goal HT 1.6

Second half started where we left off attacking the defense very soon Chris picked up the long ball from our defence and ran the ball up the pitch round the keeper into the goal. 1.7

A free kick was won just outside the box Tom shot and scored 1.8

Connor had the ball played up to him went past two players and round the keeper 1.9

Tom had another free kick that hit the post, we had a indirect free kick in the box for a back pass that when we took there player took out Tom probably a penalty.

However again with all this attacking we again over committed left ourselves short at the back, they broke and scored 2.9

From the kick off Jed and Connor played a 1-2 then Jed went on a mazey run he should of had penalty as they tried to bring him down not once but twice.

A few minutes later Jed got the goal his second half performance deserved a nice through ball and he calmly finished.  2.10

Theo scrambled in a goal with ten minutes to go 2.11

Last ten minutes and Nick rotated everyone e.g. Edonis and Morgan upfront, With Tom and Connor at centre half just like the old days LOL

MotM : Today was a simple one for me, It was nice to see Joey get a brace and first goals for the club but Chris claimed a hat-trick worked hard to get the ball when he lost, helped the midfield and even played right back. Really good game Chris !!

Training is normal tomorrow but no game next.

PS – Parent of the day went to Jackie with non stop encouragement and bringing beer 🙂

It was cold out there …………….

Today’s squad Frankie, Jack, Tom, Morgan, Edonis, Bucks, Louis, Connor, Jed, Joey, Reynolds, Gabe, Saul, Joel and Arlind.

This was our first ever proper game on 4G and i think it showed in your play. We started slowly but had the upper hand. At times we held onto the ball far too long and didn’t play the ball through quick enough. The back three of Tom, Morgan and Edonis after a couple of early jitters looked solid and shackled there bast player. Reynolds was unlucky not get on the end of a couple through ball . With fifteen minutes gone Connor went to take a corner, he looked up and saw a Brady player not paying much attention so he bounced the corner off the player into the net.(writers poetic license) 0.1

It was just reward for a lot attacking play, very soon after Joey was taken roughly out of the game and won a deserved free-kick. Tom hit the ball straight and it flew into the top . 0.2

Far too often we didn’t get out shot away or ended up in a offside position. This allowed Brady back into the game. The Brady forward ran down the right unchallenged, then allowed to cut inside and no one closed him down. He hit a great shot that Frankie had no chance. 1.2

Last ten minutes it was all us but we couldn’t take our chances , Saul had a great chance just before half time but the keeper saved well. 1.2HT

Second half started and we were on the back foot from the start. Brady had the pressure in the first five minutes and after some slack defending we gave the ball away cheaply the ball was ran down the wing and crossed into the middle, somehow it got bundled in 2.2

Now it was time to wake from your slumber, and you did. We started to take back control of the game and the match was now being played in their half. With ten minutes gone of the second half a free kick was won just outside the box. Tom shot into the far corner and it was 2.3. Our heads were up again and we were the better team. That’s not to say it was easy, Brady broke down our right and Frankie came out to make a excellent save  in a one on one.

Very soon Jed broke down the left went past two players and drove into the box, as the goalie came out he placed the ball firmly in the corner, a really good goal that effectively killed the match. 2.4

Last twenty minutes and it was all us, Gabe should of scored as the goalie came out but the defender manged to get back to clear the line. From the resulting corner. The ball found Gabe who had time to get the ball down and unleash a shot. The goalie made a fantastic save but Louis followed to put the ball in the back of the net 2.5

Last five minutes and still time for one more. The ball was played up Gabe who got past the last man and finished calmly a deserved goal.2.6

All in all a good result, to be honest not your best performance but its the result that matters. Well done all.

MoTM : Today I thought Jed had a good game and scored a fantastic goal, Tom solid game again and two goals from free kicks but i am going to give it to Morgan, led well from the back today made numerous interceptions and tackles. Good play from the skipper.

Another Top of the table clash…..

On a blustery day today’s squad wad Reynolds, Theo, Morgan, Edonis, Tom, Bucks, Jed, Saul, Connor, Chris, Gabe, Joey, Louis, Jack and Arlind.

Lunchtime kick off so you all got there nice and early which enabled us to hand out the new training/Away kit (for Clashes). The match started after we done a minutes silence in respect of the awful tragedy in France. From the off we were in attack Gabe was unlucky in the first couple of minutes. Chris was also looking dangerous trying to breakdown either flank. In the first twenty minutes we had most the possession and it was at the end of this and after around five corners that we got the goal you deserved. Jed and Connor worked the ball down the left and fed it into Gabe who calmly finished in the bottom corner. 0.1

With our noses we continued to push, we were so unlucky at times where we just need to take a little pace off the through ball or follow the shot in. Both Connor and Louis had some good efforts from distance. With thirty minutes gone we got a free kick  about 25 yards out, with the swirling Tom had a shot which the goalie could only push into the back of the net 0.2 and HT

Second half started and they came out strong, as you would of expected. With the wind behind them thew kept pushing the ball up quickly, however Morgan, Tom and Edonis held strong and kept them out. after five minutes Joey picked the ball up in midfield and fed Chris the ball who ran on the last 30 yards and coolly finished as the keeper came rushing out. 0.3

After fifteen minutes Theo was played in and it was his turn to finish smartly in the bottom corner 0.4

That was effectively game over, you were already the better team and creating half chances at will. With twenty minutes to go Gabe came back on and almost scored straight away. Another ball played through the channels, Gabe took the ball around the keeper and scored into a empty net. 0.5

The last fifteen minutes saw Reynold make a fantastic save to push the ball over the bar. Gabe nearly got his hat trick from a corner. Unmarked in the box he took it on the chest but volleyed it over the bar, I don’t think he realised how much time he had. For the last ten minutes Nick made a raft of changes and even gave Reynolds a run upfront from which he nearly scored. However the last goal of the game fell to Aldenham too many of you pushed up for a corner and they hacked the ball clear and it fell nicely to the striker who scored 1.5 FT

MoTM : Again another good week for so many of you. The defence was so solid that we were playing this “so called” super striker I didn’t even know he was on the pitch. The midfield controlled the match and the forwards all looked dangerous. But today it went to Reynolds, he went in goal for the first time in 4 yeras and his confidence grew with game. Happy to kick the ball clear when receiving the ball from defence and came out well to claim the ball well. In the second half he claimed the ball really well from a free kick and capped it all with a great save.

A good finish to a hard fought game …..

Today’s squad Frankie, Tom, Morgan, Edonis, Bucks, Chris, Louis, Saul, Jed, Connor, Theo, Gabe, Arlind, Joel and Reynolds.

To be honest this is one of the smallest pitches with smallest goals that you will play on this season. We started off well, true it was 10 v 11 but you have to play what is in front. Theo made some good early runs while Jed and Chris were causing problems out wide. However the first real chance fell to them. They broke down our right and played a early ball in only for the forward to head over. A little asleep at the the back. With ten minutes gone we broke down the left Jed and Theo combined to play in Connor who finished in the bottom corner. 0.1

Very soon after it was 0.2 Theo was played in and was taken out just outside the box. Originally the referee played on, but no advantage so he pulled it back for the free kick. Tom drove the ball into the bottom corner. However we were not to have it all our own way. from a corner the ball pinged around and after two or three ricochets its was forced home 1.2

The rest of the first half we were the better team but they were good on the counter and we seemed sluggish at the back. Reynolds was unlucky with a good run and shot down the right and Gabe was unlucky with a couple of his chances. Half Time 1.2

Second half started and Nick went to three at the back to try and swarm the midfield. Chris was unlucky with a run and shot that could of easily been a penalty. Soon after a speculative long ball fell just between Frankie and the defense 9 times out of 10 you would bet on Frankie to clear but this time it just got caught under his feet and they rolled it into a empty net. 2.2

The next ten minutes we were under pressure a bit and eventually after having a couple opportunities to clear the ball got played across to an unmarked player who smashed it in 3.2

After weathering the pressure we started to come back into the game another corner and this time Louis first hit the cross bar and then followed his own shot in to bundle it over the line just 3.3. We were now back in the ascendancy, they were still a threat and Morgan, Edonis and Frankie made some important interceptions and clearances.

Nick kept rolling the changes and Connor’s first touch when he came back on was to score in the far corner. 3.4 A good team goal that was fully deserved. You did let your heads drop and you kept pressing. Five minutes later a short corner between Connor and Chris got half cleared Tom picked up the clearance and rifled a shot into the Top corner. Game over , you saw their heads drop and you were still pushing. 3.5

Chris was now wrecking havoc down the left and must of won three free kicks in quick succession, It was from another break down the left and he cut inside, sold one player a dummy and the next player just kicked him . PENALTY. even the referee said he hadn’t seen a more blatant penalty for a long time. Tom took the penalty and made 3.6

Last few minutes and you still created a few half chances but no lucky seven. The referee warned a couple of their players for wreck-less tackles and even warned them that on another day they would gotten yellow cards. Final whistle went 3.6

MoTM: Again a few candidates Chris had a great second half and didn’t stop running and creating chances, Connor two goals , won the ball back a lot whilst always playing his passing game, but today’s MoTM was Tom he got a hat trick a really good free kick, a cool penalty while under pressure and a thunderbolt to finish.

All of you played well, alot of players played in positions to help the team rather than in their preferred, but that is why its a team sport. Without this we would not be playing as well as we are.
