Tough game , with the right result in the end…

Today’s squad Frankie, Tommy, Jack, Edonis, Sony, Louis, Connor, Saul, Jed, Ollie, Morris, Gabe, Hyde, Max, Joey and Harry

For a change you actually started really well small quick triangles and you were creating chances, First chance of the game fell to Morris however the got stuck a bit and his shot was almost behind him which ended up in the keeper midriff. The pressure was all ours, A corner was won and Connor’s Ball found Saul at the far post whose angled header was fantastically saved by the keeper.

Another corner and somehow they cleared when we seemed certain to score. Ollie won the ball in midfield and ran through the middle , he had two opportunities to score but didn’t know he was being hunted down and the defender finally made the tackle. However five minute later he made amends Sony played in a good free kick the ball got played back into the box and Ollie smashed it home 1.0 20 mins gone (TBH we should of been at least three up by now)

Next chance fell to Jed, he burst into the box and was about to shoot when an opposing player fell on the ball, in my view clear obstruction until the keeper picked it up, very very strange. Suddenly we switched off for the last fifteen. They started to play some more direct ball and we sat too far back meaning they began to swamp the midfield and attacking from deep. The back three at times were marking no one so they ran at them from deep once he knocked it past he only had Frankie to beat which he did 1.1

With five minutes to go you were under pressure being too deep and quick long balls forward. Another ball and Edonis clipped the striker as he ran through luckily for him Hyde was on the cover so it was only a yellow. However the free kick brought its own pain as the scored from it just before half time. 1.2 HT

Second half you had the slope and the first ball caught them square and Morris nearly finished. This time it was there turn to struggle under getting the ball forward quickly and wide. A few half chance came quickly and i thought the keeper looked suspect.We hit them on the break a ball forward to Ollie found him unmarked in the penalty box, however it was too high and Ollie tried the “Hand of God” but the referee was not fooled and booked him for doing so.

A corner was won this time Harry took, it went near post and got flicked towards the back where a tussle between there number 6 and Morris ended with the ball in the net…… I AM GIVING  THE GOAL TOO ……………… OK Morris 🙂 2.2

Now we were in the ascendancy Gabe broke down the left cut in on his right and shot. The keeper didn’t hold on and Morris followed in to tap the ball in with his left into an empty net 3.2 60 mins gone.

There heads were dropping and we piled on the pressure.Gabe saw a over head kick go just wide of the post. A quick break from our half found Morris unmarked and onside just outside the box. He powered into the box and firmly planted his shot into the bottom corner to complete his hat-trick 4.2 70 mins

You can never switch off and they continued to look to play down the wings to create chances. A ball was played in down our left and Hyde tried to clear it however the ball flew into the top corner off his head , so ,so unlucky 4.3 80 mins

Suddenly pressure was back on us and we still found space and time to hit them on the break and manage the game in there half. High pressure closing meant they either went back or only just out of the centre circle.

With five to Nick took the tiring Morris off and told Max to close and hassle the defenders. The ball was won in midfield, played up to Max who flicked the ball round two defenders ran on to his own flick. Took the ball into the box and smashed it on to the goal 10 seconds after coming on. What a tactical piece of genius by Nick !!!!! oh and Max’s goal wasn’t bad too 5.3 85mins

Last five minutes plus five added on and you never looked in danger of conceding again The defence were solid and you closed them down all over the pitch. Final score 5.3 FT

Also want to commend you all for not getting involved at the end when they lost their heads and tried to start a fight well done your football did the talking.

MoTM All of you played well bar the fifteen before half time. It is important to retain the ball and not given it up. Max had a really good second half in center midfield and scored a blinder, However Morris scored his first Hat trick for the club and worked tirelessly upfront really well done

Todays’s squad Frankie, Jack, Edonis, Sonny, Louis, Tommy, Max, Jed, Harry, Arlind, Morris, Connor, Tom, Joey and Ollie

The first half was not your best, i think some of you turned up thinking this was a “Gimme” and that they were going to roll over. However they had other ideas.

In the first twenty minutes they went 2.0 up long balls either over the top or in the channels We did not follow our men or close them down early enough to prevent. Frankie then had to produce two good saves in succession to keeps us in the match.

Last twenty you started to play football and get involved in the game Louis had a great run down the left and cut inside and was very unlucky with his shot. Soon after Jed followed in on a opportunity but his shot with his right foot failed to hit the target, if only it fell on his left 😦

Morris hit a shot just outside the box that the keeper just about parried away. HT 2.0

Second half you started much better and we were in the front foot straight away piling up pressure on there defence. With ten minutes gone a quick clearance from Edonis found Jed free down the middle. His shot proved too difficult to hold and found the back of the net 2.1

We now had all the pressure Harry got played in similar to Jed however with not the same outcome as his shot was saved by the keeper.

More pressure down the left Jed ran into the channels and cut the ball back to Harry who could not turn the ball in and finally they cleared after the ball bounced around in the penalty area.

Finally the equalizer came after some good football up to the penalty box found Ollie coming in at the far post to smash the ball home 2.2 after 25 minutes.

Chances were now coming thick and fast, Morris smashed a header back across goal from a corner from Connor that i thought was certain to go in however the keeper made a fantastic save.

But again got sloopy and we got caught out by the long ball, Tom back pass got stuck in the grass , Frankie got to the ball only to see the kick hit the forwards knees and the ball fell kindly for him to run into a empty net 3.2

But no heads dropped and you put more pressure on them, Jed was unlucky again with a chip over the keeper that hit the cross bar. We had probably another three or four chances that i felt we should of scored from. Finally we did Another corner from Connor found Edonis who thumped the ball with his heat into the goal. Fifteen minutes to go 3.3

With ten minutes to go we got hit on the break our free kick into there box got cleared and smashed up field they broke and left Frankie found himself against two players. 4.3

Last ten we really now did push and left ourselves short at the back but this was now tactical. Still we had some half chances just could not find the goal you deserved FT 4.3

We had enough chances to take something from this game if not win it. It just shows take nothing for granted and nothing beats effort and right attitude from the start!!!!

MoTM : Not sure who Nick said but i thought Max had a really good first half, Frankie kept us in the match in the first half, But Jed was my MoTM worked hard all game and had a never say die attitude, He scored a good goal I believe he helped create the second and was unlucky not to score with his chip over the keeper. Well done  !!!

A game to blow the cob webs away …………

Today’s squad Frankie, Edonis, Tom, Saul, Max, Joey, Saul, Connor, Louis, Arlind, Morris, Harry, Gabe, Tommy and Hyde

A better start than recent weeks, in other words you didn’t concede in the first ten minutes. Whilst that had a bit more of the ball and territory they threatened little. The defence and Frankie looked assured and didn’t allow silly chances. Saul was winning the aerial battle in the midfield and we looked dangerous on the break. The first real chance fell to them, as they broke from our corner down our left and crossed the ball in. However as the ball came in i saw five or six had made the recovery run to transition back to defence. Connor got to the ball in front of their striker to clear for a corner which nothing came off.

Finally the deadlock was broken, really good battling by Arlind finished with him heading the ball forward to Morris, who’s shot from the edge of the box  flew into the back of the net !! absolute “Banger”  !!!! (Quote from Morris)

We soon got a second chance Arlind won a free kick, Tom crossed the ball into Saul who had a free head, unfortunately the header went straight at the keeper a bit either side and it would of been a goal. The last twenty we had all the play and were controlling the game.

Harry unleashed a 25 yard shot that just went over the bar, Max burst down the right and hit a cross/shot that just went wide of the post and Morris who was following up. From a corner we nearly scored a second but the ball cannoned off a opponent for a corner. HT 0.1

Second half started and again i felt we were in full control. The pace was a little slow for my liking and when we did try to play the killer pass is was often the difficult option. The game was being played in their half with us just sweeping up any long balls from the back. Gabe i thought was going to shoot after good play down the left, he cut in side on too his right and shaped to curl one but in the end elected to pass which they cleared.Soon after Joey had a shot just outside that went over the bar

After 20 minutes we broke their resistance, good work down the right between Harry and Max and the ball git squared into the middle for Gabe to score via three ricochets but still a goal 0.2

Last twenty we really should of put the game to bad, Good play Connor down the left and his cross just evaded Jed and Edonis following in at the back post hit a shot so hard it rebounded for throw in.

Harry had a shot from 25 yards that went just over the top and Edonis cleared the cross bar from 6 yards out. Jed had a lung bursting run down the left and shot into side netting. I was waiting for us to get the third but it just never came. Aldenham best chance came in the 94th Minute and the forwards shot hit the post. That would of been harsh as Frankie and the defence deserved a clean sheet. FT 0.2

I would say not your best game but you won i felt we settled into their pace which was too slow for us. I think we really needed that game after such and inactive period.

MoTM : Honorable mentions to Joey who was influential in the middle of the park, Arlind who battled hard to win the ball back for the entire game, however today it went to Harry who played some nice forward passes, tracked back when needed and looked dangerous in attack well done

Silly mistakes cost us dear and goals in clusters ………..

Today’s squad Frankie, Jack, Tom, Edonis, Jed, Max, Connor, Saul, Ollie, Harry, Gabe, Joey, Morris and Tommy.

A strong wind definitely set the tone of each half AP had the wind behind them in the first half, long balls as we knew would be the order of the day. A cross from our left by past the entire defence and found their forward in loads of space. He took it down and shot, Frankie was on his toes and came out to block and then he pushed the rebound over the top.

The next twenty were very tight, the defence and centre midfield work hard as the ball was played forward. Probably the best chance fell to Max he was put clear down the left, as the keeper came out he lifted it over with his left foot only to see it drift wide.

With 25 mins gone we succumbed to two quick goal first a cross into the box wasnt cleared properly and the ball fell to a AP player who hit it into the roof of the net 0.1 Almost straight away we got hit down the right a low ball in and it looked like it would be cleared unfortunately it just fell in to their players path 0.2

We almost hit back straight away a free kick won just outside the area and Harry’s shot hit the cross-bar. Nick ran the changes and almost paid off. Morris broke down the right and was unlucky with a shot just outside the box 0.2 HT

Second half actually started well, we had the wind and it allowed us to play in their final third. Straight away Gabe and Morris created half chances that we were unlucky not to convert.

However again we were to pay for sloppy defending and concentration. First Frankie called the through ball, however he was beaten to it and the ball rolled into the net despite Jack’s best effort to clear off the line. Jack cut his hand on the net in the process. 0.3 Almost straight away we conceded a free kick Jack has to come off and we get a bit out of shape the free kick is headed in at with an unmarked player 0.4

The good news was that the you kept your heads as there was always goals in this game. Five minutes after they scored Saul broke down left cut inside and crossed to the far post were Max finished well. 1.4

We had the pressure now and they looked shaky at the back. A free kick from Tom found Edonis at the near post and his header found the back of the net 2.4

Pushing forward we were always susceptible to the break, as they broke quickly down the left they found a player clean through Frankie came out narrowed the angles and saved really well.

Fifteen to go and another cross into the box falls to Gabe who bundles it into the net 3.4

Last ten and the were in “Park the bus” mode. Ollie hit the post from a corner. Harry looked like he got pulled back in the box but no penalty given, From another corner it hits their defender and the ball drifted past the far post. We just couldn’t fashion a real clear-cut chance and the Referee blew for full-time bang on the 90 mins (another five and i feel we would have got the equalizer you deserved). FT 3.4

MoTM Tough game today first half I thought Connor played well in midfield won the ball, used it simply and drew fouls to relive pressure. Second half Max played well scored and tracked back down the right. However today it went to Jed, first half played at left back and defended well whilst always offering as an option to attack. Second half played on the left of a three and attacked the ball at every opportunity and the final ten minutes upfront where i thought the ball was going to score with his first touch but the defender got a toe in to clear. Jed great game worked hard for the team.

Excellent Start to the New Year with a really tough game

Today’s Squad Frankie, Jack, Tom, Edonis, Tommy, Connor, Saul, Jed, Louis, Morris, Gabe, Max, Sony, Ollie and Arlind.

Lunch time kick off and for some reason we seemed to start a bit better ……….Hmmm (Extra Sleep). Right from the start the pattern of the game was set. AP won the ball and launched it forward to the striker which Frankie collected . Soon after we were lucky no to concede when a cross from the right evaded everyone including a unmarked player on the far side. Another long ball and this time the defence cleared well the ball was then played to Tommy on the right who ran down the wing, he cut inside first and then back out Morris gave him a great shout and Tommy cut it back to the penalty spot where Morris smashed it home. 0.1 5 mins gone.

Next ten minutes we came under pressure, a lot of long balls and crosses. You can see why this team score goals as they play a very direct and early game. With fiftenn gone the game was leveled. The striker picked the ball up after a clearance and from a far distance smashed the ball into the top corner. 1.1

Still we had to endure pressure, but when we did get the ball and played our passing game they struggled to cope with us. As i said to Nick early on , i felt this game had goals in it !!! We played the ball out of defence and drew the foul just inside their half. Edonis took the free kick , Ollie made a late run down the near side and flicked the ball in the middle to find Saul who scored, Again another well worked goal 1.2 25 mins gone.

Chances were to come for both side we hit the cross bar and Frankie made a couple really smart saves. Finally the crosses and pressure paid off for them and we were a little exposed as they scored with a header 2.2 35Mins

But to all your credit no heads dropped as you all saw that on the counter we had opportunities to score, it was from a counter/ clearance from Frankie that the ball found Max on the right. He ran down the wing and as he came up to the box he took a early shot. (As we did in training) The goalie had messed up his angles and the ball found the near post corner 2.3 40 Mins

With the end of half looming Louis was harshly adjudged for a high foot maybe chest height, and the player ducked down. Free kick on the edge the shot went over the wall but Frankie made a fantastic dive to his right to push the ball round the post 2.3 HT Fantastic Half but not finished yet !!!

Second Half started very similar to the first AP playing the early long ball, us soaking up pressure and hitting them on the break.

The first real chances went to them a corner was played in we didn’t go with the runners but fortunately they headed wide. Soon after another corner and this time Frankie punched clear when under great pressure (As we did in training). Then Frankie makes a magnificent double save first a really strong had stops a certain goal and he then blocked the follow up and the defence cleared. All the time we looked dangerous on the counter.

Another long ball was dealt with by the defence and falls to Jed in the middle a driving run takes him towards the box where he was fouled. Tom took this free kick and the ball went just over the bar. Another ball cleared by the defence is played up to Morris who is brought down on the edge of the box. Edonis takes this one low and hard, it clips the wall but finds the back of the net 2.4 65 Mins

However they would not go away. We gave away a free kick on the edge of the box near the right touchline a swinging cross/shoot curls into the top corner 3.4 75 Mins

Now its very much end to end they pushing for an equalizer, us looking to extended on the counter. Saul makes a couple great run down the left and almost finds Gabe both times on for them to scramble away. Max comes on at Wing back and makes 3 fantastic interceptions/ tackles. Finally we get the break quick passing by Jed,saul Connor find Morris who splits the defence and fires into the goal. Another fantastic goal 3.5 85Mins

Last 5 minutes i be honest was “Park the bus”, take to the corner, but again we had the last say as Gabe brought a fine save from the keeper in the dying minutes.

Final score 3.5 a fantastic hard fought win !!!!

MoTH: OMG this is probably the hardest i have ever done, You played with heart and dedication sometimes doing a roll unfamiliar to you. Honrable mentions Frankie three fantastic saves and no idea how many blocks. The back three Jack, Tom, Edonis headers, clearances, crosses and Goals. Midfield tireless work on a huge pitch Saul, Jed, Sony and Connor, Wing backs up and down Louis, Tommy, Ollie and upfront we took our chances, help the ball Morris, Gabe Max and Arlind. However it goes to Max but probably for his defensive display the final 25 minutes. He broke up play,tackled, headed clear and worked so hard to keep them out and oh yes scored a goal well done!!

Training Wednesday19:30, Game Sunday 12:30 KO Aldenham

Cold Day, but a warm feeling at the end of the game

Today’s squad Frankie, Louis, Edonis, Tom, Jed, Olly, Saul, Connor, Arlind, Morris, Max, Gabe, Joey, Harry and Tommy

Twas the last game before Christmas and all was still……….bah humbug LOL

Much better start to the game, a little slow in pressing but we did not give any goals away in the first five minutes. They did start better and had most of the possession but we also looked good on the counter attack. They had an early chance that went just wide. The strangest event was a great interception/ toe poke by Jed was deemed a deliberate back pass to Frankie who picked it up However the free kick came to nothing.

With fifteen minutes gone Max got the ball on our left and took the ball forward, he whipped in a fantastic cross that beat the defence and keeper to find Ollie Mc coming in at the far post to prod in 1.0

The next fifteen we came under a bit of pressure, they kept the ball well and created a few half chances that they should of scored from, finally though our resilience broke and from a corner they scored ! My main cause for concern was that the player was completely unmarked and was their tallest man… 1.1

Last fifteen were very tight with both teams creating chances, they nearly scored from a cross to the back post but the goal bound header was cleared by Connor. Saul, Tom and Edonis all made some vital tackles and clearances and Frankie made a superb save from a free kick going in the top corner.

At the other end Harry found some space on the edge of the box but the left foot shot was pulled wide , Gabe probably had the best chance at the end of the half as the ball got pulled back to him on the penalty spot and i thought he going to smash the ball home however it went over the bar. HT 1.1

Second half started and we were a little slow out the blocks, the ball was played forward and found a man in space and free 1.2 after five minutes.

No heads went down you picked your selves up and and hit back in the next ten minutes. Joey won a free kick, Tom hit the ball towards goal, the keeper misjudged completely and Saul head into the back of the net 2.2

Soon you got yourselves in front, Max won the ball after a poor goal kick by the keeper, he ran down the right and the angle got tight so i thought he was going to cross however Max had other ideas and blasted a shot into the far post a fantastic finish!!! Max then nearly injured himself as he ran into the cricket fence when going to celebrate 3.2

The last twenty you found yourselves under pressure but kept your shape and made some great blocks and tackles. whilst we always created chances. Gabe and Morris played a fantastic One/Two on the edge of the box and Gabe’s left footed shot went wide. Harry nearly got on the end of clearance from the back and saw his shot saved. Gabe was involved again in what i thought was going to be sure goal, Good work by Jed on left played Gabe in, Gabe cut back in on his right and i thought he was going to shoot and score instead he laid it to Saul whose first time shot was blocked by a defender.

The last five minutes was definitely “Park the bus” Tommy made a good tackle and Frankie cleared his line well. I got nervous on corners but we managed to hold firm finally the whistle went and a hard fought victory 3.2

MoTM Today i was pleased with all of you it was a tough match and they were a good side. We were missing a couple defender so we had to make changes. You all battled, closed, worked hard, created chances and supported each other as a team. My MoTM was Max an assist for the first goal and scored a fabulous one as well. He won headers in the middle of the park when he dropped deep to help the midfield while always a danger and threat in attack. Even taking it to the corner flag in the last minute and getting a whack for his efforts.

Well done all training on Wednesday and then a break for Christmas ……….

A deserved win ………

Today’s squad

Another slow start from us again, not enough pressure on the players and too many sloppy balls, however the first couple chances fell to us. Good work by Louis and Tom down the right saw a Morris shot well saved by the keeper. Somehow they managed to block the rebound. Soon after another ball forward found Morris who was unlucky with a shot ,Connor followed the rebound and saw his shot cleared on the line and they scrambled the ball away for a corner. From the corner Connor found Edonis and his header hit the bar and went over.

Soon we paid for over playing at the back and a ball across the goal was picked up by there forward who ran in to score at the far post 0.1 fifteen gone

This actually seemed the pick up you all needed. Jed won the ball played it to Tom who played inside to Connor and his through ball to Gabe gave him a 1 on 1 which the keeper saved well at his feet.

Jed won another ball in the middle and drove forward he played in Morris who unleashed a thunderbolt from outside the box to score 1.1 25 mins gone

Literally 5 mins later Gabe picked the ball up in the opponents half and shot. The ball sailed over the keeper who was off his line and flew in under the bar 2.1

Last fifteen saw you move up a few gears and chances came . Saul drove down the left and cut the ball back somehow Brady scrambled the ball away. Tom was unlucky with a good shot low at the keepers near post. Just before half time Frankie makes a great save at the edge of his box in a one on one situation 2.1 HT

Second half started well we were on the attack straight away and unlucky with a couple of chances. However with a slender lead and I always felt there was more goals in this game. A good corner from Polly found Gabe in the box unchallenged to head it in 3.1

More good work down the left this time by Louis found Harry who cut into the box and blasted the ball home 4.1

Brady broke and after good work found themselves in our a box a excellent shot was fantastically saved by Frankie to tip round for a corner. However from the corner we were undone after the ball was cleared a speculative shot took Frankie by surprise 99 time out of 100 a routine save Frankie took his eye off and the ball went in 4.2 Brady had their tails up

It came very end to end with us still having the best chances Edonis hit a great free kick that the keeper saved to his right and they scored almost from the break away down the the right a cross./shot drifted in the far post 4.3

Time to step up a gear and you did almost straight away a free kick on a right was played in and here is something i never thought i would say Gabe leapt like a Salmon for the SECOND time in the game to score with his head Yes two headed Goals 5.3

Now the pressure seemed off and soon it was wrapped up with a nice team goal Edonis short free kick to Hyde, Played the ball to the edge of the box to Connor, who fed Jed in the area. Jed crossed for Morris whose first shot was blocked but he poked home the rebound. 6.3

Last five minutes and Morris hit the post , Polly was unlucky with a great shot and then i thought Polly was gonna finish it with an overhead kick you could of easily won by more FT 6.3

MoTM : After a sloppy ten minute i thought to a man a great team performance a couple of individuals to note Louis good work in both wing back rolls, Connor excellent in midfield making tackles and some great through balls, But today it went to Gabe he has had a tough couple of weeks not everything going his way but today a great shot and two headed goals. He worked hard for the team closing the defence down when they had the ball and taking his chance. He was upset he missed a chance with his left foot before the second goal as that would of been a proper hat trick !!!!

Well done all see you at training

Should not of been this close……

Today’s squad Frankie, Sony, Henry, Edonis, Polly, Tom, Connor, Jed, Harry, Gabe, Morris, Jack, Max, Tommy and Joey

Slow, it was so Slow start they wanted it more than us in the first fifteen minutes. our passes went astray, there was no winning of the ball either on the deck or in the air, it was just sloppy, sloppy,sloppy.

However the first real chance fell to us Harry won the ball on the left and played a delightful ball through to Morris the keeper came rushing out sliding at his feet and i thought he was just going to dink it over him. instead he tried to pass it round him and the keeper saved it. They cleared from here down our left and won a throw on outside the penalty box. As everyone stopped for what looked like a foul throw the referee awarded a penalty even the opposition looked surprised. The penalty was taken and scored 0.1 Frankie no chance a very harsh and baffling decision fifteen minutes gone.

This seemed to wake you up and we started to get back in the game however we almost lost a second goal as we got caught up field. A diving tackle just outside the box was a foul and the referee blew up straight away, however the ball rolled kindly to there forward who scored but it was disallowed as the Ref had already blown. The free kick came to nothing ….. very very lucky

For the rest of the half you began to assert control Connor won the ball just outside the box and was crudely taken out, Tom took the free kick and it hit the post some how the ball avoided three of you following up as they luckily cleared. Soon you were back on level terms a break down the left by Polly fed Gabe who ran into the box and shot. The keeper saved and initially it looked to be going wide but the ball bounced in off the keeper. 1.1

Every time we attacked i felt we could score, this time good work from Jed down the left, found Tom who fed Morris who as he cut in Morris taken out …….Penalty. Morris dusted himself off and blasted the penalty home 2.1

Next to get a chance was Jed who broke through the middle only to see his shot saved by the out rushing keeper. Jed was involved again soon after as he picked the ball up in the middle of the park, he beasted 5 players and unselfishly played Morris in who fired the ball into the goal 3.1

More chances were to come in the last five but we just couldn’t find the back of the net. Edonis put a low free kick in that just evaded everyone at the back post and Tommy put a really good cross in the Max hit just over the bar 3.1 HT

Second Half we started a little quiet but to honest they didnt create many chances themselves Jack, Edonis and Henry look solid at the back and Sony was winning the battle just infont. The three best chances fell to Polly, first a speculative over head kick from outside the area which just went wide, Second a shot well saved by the keeper and  then he tried a “Rabonna” in a goal mouth scramble which the keeper managed to claw off the line.

More chances were to come in the first half but Max was unlucky a couple of times and Edonis headed wide from a corner.

With 35 mins gone finally got the break you deserved , the ball was played down the right and moved into Morris who’s shot was well saved the rebound fell kindly to Connor, the keeper made a great save, this time the ball fell to Gabe who smashed it in 4 .1

That should of been game over but you all switched off for two minutes and a free speculative shot from the edge of the box nestled into the far corner 4.2

More chances came and went Gabe put two chances just over the bar and Morris scored a good goal that was incorrectly ruled for offside . Morris was unlucky with a header from a corner that flew just over the bar.

Deep in injury time Edonis got fouled but the Ref played on the ball broke to there forward who scored a flattering third goal with the last kick of the ball.

After a sloppy start and sloppy last ten you all played well, however you must keep the intensity and commitment up for the full 90 minutes otherwise better teams will punish you.  In the end three points job done well done all.

MotM : Whist we had numerous chances with both Morris and Gabe grabbing a brace, i thought the back three looked solid and i felt it was marshalled well by Henry who looked composed and assured on the ball. Made a cracking tackle in the first half and some fantastic interceptions. He was well supported by Jack, Adonis and Sony, but well done Henry.

Sloppy Day in the Office

Today’s Squad Frankie, Sony, Jack, Edonis, Louis, Arlind, Tom, Jed, Tommy, Harry, Max, Morris, Connor, Hyde and Gabe.

Disaster struck in the warm Frankie realized that his finger was too sore to play in Goal and had to pull out. So Morris went in goal for the first half and Max for the second. Thanks BOYS 🙂

However let just say i witnessed the most awful 25 mins of the season so far. They scored from a corner where no one marked. 0.1 Five minutes gone.

The next twenty we gave the ball away , didn’t pass to our men, didn’t tackle, in fact you did nothing !!! The highlight of the first half was a couple of fantastic saves from Morris to keep it at 0.1. We manged one real chance when you broke quickly and Harry found Max free whos shot at goal went just wide. A scramble in the box didnt fall to us we ended the first half more in control but still the goal behind HT 0.1

Second half started and Max was in goal much better and Jed picked the ball up in his own half and burst forward. His run took him into the box and he calmly fired past the keeper 1.1

Now you were more in control of the game and looked dangerous in attack with pressure mounting we looked the more likely to score and it was to be. Good work from Jed down the left. Morris overlapped and played received the ball in the box, he played the ball to Tom who passed once more to Gabe who smashed it home 1.2

Whilst we looked much better going forward we kept over committing and sitting too deep and gave them chances. Harry had a good shot saved by the keeper from outside of the box and Edonis had a header from a corner cleared on the line.

Soon it was Max’s turn to show his goalkeeping skills with a fantastic save from a free kick, however joy was not to last anither free kick a couple of minutes later and a flick at the near post ended up in the net. 2.2

Still you pressed but again went sloppy at times giving the ball away far too easy and it was from a mistake they broke and ran through the middle and slipped the ball past max as he came out. 2.3

Last ten minutes we played with 4 up front and 3 at the back as it was cup game the ball seemed to bounce in the defence favour so many times. Last minute of the game Tommy picked the ball up played it forward to Connor who ran between two defender. He just got to the ball first and poked it past the on rushing keeper, we all held our breath to see if extra time loomed but it was not to be as it drifted past the post. FT 2.3

MoTM : Very difficult today as no one stood out so i will give to Morris and Max for going in goal in a time of need and both made a couple excellent saves. Thanks Boys

Windy Day makes it a bid leveler……

Today’s squad Frankie, Hyde, Tom, Edonis, Louis, Polly, Connor, Saul, Joey, Gabe, Harry, Arlind, Tommy and Sony.

We started much better today than our previous two games. You all warmed up well and took it more seriously. It was always going to be a tough game as they had three or four players back from suspension. We had the wind the first half but i don’t think it was blessing.

They five minutes you pressed well and cause them to make some mistakes. Gabe closed down well to win a corner. Connor hit it to the near post and the keeper some how pushed it around the corner. But did not look convincing. The resulting corner was cleared.

If anything the wind made defending harder as it held up and was difficult to judge. Finally we had the break through a free kick just inside their half Tom hit the ball forward and on target with the wind it sailed over the keeper and into the net 0.1

Joey was causing problems down the left he cut inside and was fouled Joey played on and scored from just outside the box however the Ref had already blown for the free kick. Tom hit this free kick just over the bar.

Chances were few and far with wind so blustery making it hard to judge, From a out swinging corner Edonis was unlucky not to score in a scramble in the box. HT 0.1

Second Half NicK went back to 3.5.2 formation to allow Tom to sweep as we were playing against the wind. From the start of the second half we had the main pressure forcing them back. Gabe was unlucky with a shot and Louis had a really fine effort saved.

We probably had enough chances to score in the first ten minutes to wrap it up and we nearly paid for not taking the chances. We got hit on the break and Frankie made fantastic double save to keep us one up.

Nerves started to kick in as  we really deserved a second goal Good work between Saul and Hyde led the ball to Gabe who played it across to Polly and the ball was bundled into the net. Some how it was offside NO IDEA

Then they did a pass back that the keeper picked up, no free kick I felt the gods were conspiring against us. Finally the goal came. Tom floated the ball in Edonis flicked it on to the back post and Tommy coolly finished. Really good goal 0.2

Still you kept the pressure on looking for the third, Good work by Joey and the ball up to Connor would have had a 4 on 1 situation, Again another offside this time for someone not interfering with play.

Suddenly they broke caught us light at the back, Frankie and Sony made initial blocks and the ball fell to the forward who chipped Frankie, But Saul was on the line to clear.

With a minute remaining Edonis won the ball at the back a quick 1 -2 with Connor he then fired a great shot that flew in under the bar. 0.3 Fantastic Goal. FT

Really well done today all of you in a niggly match effected by the wind.

MoTM : A few players of note Tom marshaled the back four/three really well, Louis had a good solid game, Saul must of won twenty headers from long throws, Today it went to Joey he won the ball back a lot, created space with good turns, drew the fouls to relieve the pressure, but for me the pleasing sight he just released the ball a little quicker and helped drive the team forward. Well played Joey
