A great way to end the League W10 D1 L3, Also baring a Miracle Morris should finish top goal scorer in the league

Today’s Squad Ollie, Hyde, Tom, Edonis, Jack, Jed, Max, Harry, Tommy, Morris, Gabe, Saul, Connor, Sony, Louis and Frankie.

Lunch time K.O. and you all started well. Gabe was finding space down the left and Morris was putting pressure on the back two. We had a coupe of efforts but both went just wide otherwise it was very much a even contest . Jed and Morris combined well which fell on Jed right foot…. on his left it would of been a different story. After about twenty minutes they broke and won a corner. Ollie parried the ball away but it fell to a Edmonton player who smashed it in. 1.0 but not deserved!

With thirty minutes gone a free kick on our left was played in, the ball scrambled clear Tommy won the ball and played it to Sony whose cross fell to either Gabe/Morris and they scored, However the referee ruled for an offside which i didn’t see as they had a man on the line ! Either way score remained 1.0

With two minutes to go they got a free kick on the right as it was played in the referee gave a penalty, Jack got hit in the chest and pushed the player off , however the referee didn’t see the first offense. Penalty stood, Ollie faced the taker and dived to his left pushing the ball away and then we cleared before they could get the rebound. Great save that kept us the game HT 1.0

Over halftime Nick stressed we were falling into their moaning tactics and to move forward and play our football. Which i think you did from the start. From kick off you were controlling the game and looked the more likely to score , After ten minutes a throw from Harry down the right was cleared and hoofed forward. Edonis blocked the forward and Sony cleared. His clearance ricocheted off an Edmonton player and Ollie pounced to run forward and slot pass the keeper as two players closed. Great Goal 1.1

Fifteen gone and we broke down the left with Harry who beat one player then squared the ball to Connor whose first time shot was corner bound however the keeper tipped it round the post for a corner. From the resulting corner from Connor found Saul at the back post who headed it in. Lovely Classic HW & W goal 1.2

Next ten they pushed on a bit and broke down our left a ball in to the box was some how kept out of the goal even if Frankie did get a whack for his troubles. A couple of time they did over hit the cross into the box and we lived dangerously.

With thirty minutes gone we broke down the left and won a throw on quickly taken by Connor to Morris in the middle of the box and we passed it on to Jed who smashed it in with his left foot 1.3 and Game over, you could see the heads drop.

Last fifteen and we were opening them up at regular intervals yet Morris was not on the score sheet, This soon changed as he scored two goals in quick succession as he ran onto through ball and beat the keeper easily both times. As I said hopefully enough for him to finish as top goal scorer. 1.5

Last shot of the game went to Tommy and it went just wide FT 1.5

MoTM : Well i thought you were superb the second half but it went to Ollie with his penalty save and equalizing goal as well as endless running when he was up front well done.

A well managed game…..

Today’s squad Frankie, Hyde, Tom, Edonis, Louis, Max, Saul, Connor, Harry, Morris, Jed, Joey, Ollie, Sony and Arlind

We all new it was going to be hard game in a humid condition on a big pitch, but i thought you all were excellent.From the kick off you took the game to them and were playing the game in their half. A few half chances and shots  from distance went just wide, Jed was getting a lot of room down the left in the first ten minutes. However the game suddenly changed, a long ball out from the back was flicked on Tom went to the ball and was a judged to have fouled the striker. If it was a penalty it was very, very soft. Frankie had no chance 0.1

Heads didn’t drop we went back to playing in their half. A corner from Connor found Saul whose header went just wide. Harry cut in from the right and hit a shot with his left that the keeper saved well for another corner. This time Edonis was unlucky with a header just over. For all the pressure and good football we found clear cut chances hard to come by. They seemed to get a toe or block in the last second.

Finally you scored the goal that you deserved, good work down the left by Saul whose cross found Jed who shoveld the ball on and found Morris who sliced the ball into the back of the net. 30 mins gone 1.1

Last fifteen the subs all came on and carried on the high pressure and intensity that you played. Joey had a really good shot from just outside the box. Polly and Arlind both caused problems down the flanks. Saul had a chance that he pulled just wide after good work by Arlind. We could not find the break through before half time 1.1

Second half we started a little slow, not picking our men up and they created a couple half chances but Frankie was not called into action. Soon we were back on top and hitting them from deep and finding the space behind them. The first ten minutes were fairly even and mainly a midfield battle.

As we moved into the final 25 mins i felt we notched it up a gear. good work down the right ended up with Morris coming on to a low cross. His shot smashed against the post so unlucky.

Harry was begining to find space down the left and cutting in on his right, from one of these breaks he also smashed a shot against the left hand post again so unlucky. Finally the goal came and it was another penalty, this time to us. Harry broke down the left the full back made initially a good tackle and both went down, Harry got uo the quickest and as he ran to goal, he had his legs taken away Penalty…….. Morris took the penalty and slotted it into the corner 2.1

The last fifteen we must of had five or six chances to score but could not find the goal to put the game to bed. With five minutes to Max broke down the middle fed Morris whose shot was well saved but not by the keeper ! Another penalty.

Harry took this one though the keeper got a hand to it he could not keep it out as it bounced over the line 3.1

The referee played another eight mintes of extra time and you probably should of scored two more but it was not to be FT 3.1

MoTM : I thought you all had a excellent game to day, players of note Jed, played in six positions today (LB CB CM LM RM S) Louis good strong game at left back, Tom/Edonis kept the forwards quiet all game. But today it went to Tom Hyde a Captains performance encouraged all game and worked hard up and down the pitch putting in some great crosses and tackles in defence. Well Done Hyde
