A tough cup draw, but on another day…..

Today’s squad Tom, Jed, Morgan, Edonis, Louis, Saul, Connor, Joey, Reynolds, Gabe, Chris, Jack and Bucks.

We were drawn against a team three divisions hire than ourselves, but from the start it was not that obvious. Chris was causing problems up front with his pace and both Gabe and Reynolds  were nearly through on a couple of occasions. However after ten minutes they scored with i think their first meaningful attack. The ball was played down our right and the ball was played across the goal mouth Tom slightly misjudged and they rolled the ball into the goal. 0.1

It was shame and not deserved but you battled on, still you created half chances. But they started to attack more. bucks cleared off the line and Tom made a couple of good saves, whilst all the time Morgan and Edonis were having a great game at center half. However again we were made to pay, the ball was not closed down after a throw on a fantastic shot beat Tom at the far post 0.2. With five minutes of time left Chris nearly scored what would of been a deserved goal but the goalie saved. Saul was unlucky not to get a penalty at HT 0.2

Second half started same as the first you were still very much in the game. Saul was trying to stem the attacks from the centre and the defense still looked strong. Connor had a great shot saved by the keeper and we still had chances. But no luck today they broke and scored 0.3. With sixty minutes gone it started to look like one way traffic. Heads started to drop and i know they switched to three at the back and swamped us in midfield. Not that this didn’t give us chances but our runs needed to be wider to make the through ball easier, but every time i thought you would score they would block, clear, header it out of harms way. Less said about the last fifteen the better. Lets just say they scored three more goals 0.6 FT a harsh score line.

MoTM : For the first sixty minutes I had a few contender Morgan and Edonis worked hard at center half, Jed had another great game both in defense and midfield, Tom for going in goal and making a couple of nice saves, but today it went to Saul, he showed desire, passion and a great work rate. He stopped so many attacks and always looked to get the ball forward. Even at 0.4 he was a great example to you all on how not to give up and how to keep fighting till the final whistle.

Next Game is home to Aldenham at Chase Lodge Kick Off 10:00am please ensure that you are at the ground by 9.30am
