Today’s squad well everyone bar Tom and Louie who were unfortunately away.

First just saying well done you all. You have come a long way from the team that got well beat at the start of the season. To end with a positive goal difference, highest points for two years and you beat the teams that finished 2nd and 3rd.

It was a fantastic day for a presentation. The sun was out a few beers and a kick around to Finish. Nick went through all of the players saying a bit about you all. I will write another blog over the next few week giving tips on what to work on for each of you next season. But lets go the main winners.

Top Goal Scorer : Gabe, Excellent first season even scored with his left foot.

Players Player: Faizan, Another debut season and won people over with his constant drive in midfield.

Managers Player: Edonis, Our third debutant winner, he has been a rock at the back and chipped in with some excellent goal. Most improved player over the season.

After the formalities it was game time. The Dads plus who ever else we could coax in played the team. Dads took an early lead through a Kenny Gibb beautiful curled in corner that found the far post. The response was furious from the Herons but Big Nick Rember ably helped by Malcolm and Darren they held firm at the back. Nick showed the boys how to do a headed clearance and even sacrificed his sunglasses for the cause. With Waj and his silky skills in midfield we were giving them a game. However after a bit of pressure Gabe managed to run one in to make it 1.1

The Dads didn’t let there heads drop and Shaban was unlucky a couple of times, but the pressure was building a Beckham-ess ball from myself found Hotshot Gary Reynolds who buried his goal (Now that’s how you finish Tom LOL). With Five minutes to go we started to fall deep, a bit of tiredness setting, more due to dehydration (Heat/Beer you choose) than anything else (yeah right). The Herons got the Equalizer 2.2 sorry cant remember if it was Faizan or Tom but i think it was one of you. The last three minutes were played at a premiership pace with chances at both ends but no one could find that moment of skill. Final score 2.2 with Dads retiring to a well earned beer!

Really good game, great fun and thanks to everyone for taking part. I am already looking forward to next season and have already bought some new equipment for fitness ……….
